Did this solve your problem? I installed the separate driver and X;s application from the support page and now it says “current default playback device is not supported” and doesn’t let me turn on or mess with any of the settings. The sound chip for my laptop is made by IDT.

Then it would be possible to see if issue was with any recent updates that might have happened to have caused this. Dell submitted 1 month ago by chrome I found the movie preset sounds much better than the default maxxsense setting.
